【Future Prospects】
With the global recovery in international travel following the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan has seen a sharp rise in inbound tourists and steady domestic demand, signaling a promising outlook. However, we also recognize that the travel industry faces significant challenges, including the prolonged depreciation of the yen, inflation, rising fuel prices driving up tour costs, and a tight airline supply.

Despite this, demand continues to grow for travel experiences that immerse participants in nature and culture. The adventure tourism market*1 is expected to expand further, driven by the global interest in Japan’s scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage. This presents new business opportunities and the potential to revitalize the industry and contribute to Japan’s regional economies.

Amid this environment, Goldwin will work to strengthen and grow Alpine Tour Service’s core business of activity tours inside and outside Japan. We also plan to expand our initiatives through partnerships with PLAY EARTH ADVENTURE*2 and other brand-driven businesses operated by Goldwin. These initiatives will include activity tours for domestic audiences, B2B corporate training programs incorporating nature experiences and environmental education, and more. We will also deepen our coordination with our directly operated stores, working to enhance the customer experience by expanding and enriching our points of contact through a combination of product sales and activity tour services. Looking ahead, we plan to establish a strong presence in the inbound adventure tourism market, positioning ourselves as a leading player and increasing the brand recognition of both Goldwin and Alpine Tour Service in Japan and beyond.

By making Alpine Tour Service a subsidiary and deepening our collaboration, we aim to pursue initiatives that neither company could have achieved alone, such as developing new business models and delivering even higher-quality tours, all contributing to the continued growth of the Goldwin Group.

*1: “Adventure tourism” (AT) refers to travel that includes at least two of the following three elements: physical activity, interaction with nature, and cultural experiences (as defined by the Adventure Travel Trade Association). AT is a form of travel where visitors experience a region’s unique natural environment and authentic local culture together with the people who live there, with the goal of achieving personal transformation and growth.

*2: PLAY EARTH ADVENTURE is a Goldwin project that explores new ways of connecting with nature and the environment through play—the fundamental spirit behind all sports. The project offers unique experiences set in Japan’s world-renowned national parks.
