PROFECIO: A Developer of Specialized Cleanroom Suits Adopting the BRING UNIFORM™ Recycling Platform for Cleanroom SuitsNews

Goldwin Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takao Watanabe) has announced that its high-tech brand Profecio, which develops specialized cleanroom suits and other protective apparel, has adopted the BRING UNIFORM™ recycling platform*1 operated by JEPLAN, INC. (Headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa; Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao). This initiative aims to promote sustainability by recycling used cleanroom suits*2. While BRING UNIFORM™ has previously focused on recycling uniforms from a number of different industries, Profecio marks the first time cleanroom suits are included in its scope.

Since launching the development of high-tech wear(dust-proof workwear)in 1986,Goldwin has focused on creating cleanroom suits under ist Profecio brand. These cleanroom suits offer not only dust-proof capabilities but also comfort, durability, breathability and mobility while addressing contamination prevention and other specialized needs.
Cleanroom suits play a critical role in ultra-clean environments, but their unique design and material requirements have historically made them difficult to repair and recycle. This has led to environmental concerns regarding the disposal of used garments. To address these issues, Profecio is leveraging the BRING UNIFORM™ platform with the aim of properly recycling used cleanroom suits in compliance with national permits. The platform converts the suits into raw polyester materials for new applications, such as automotive interiors, driving a circular market. Going forward, Goldwin intends to expand our efforts to achieve a fully sustainable circular business model for cleanroom suits.

Future Prospects: From Disposal to Renewal
Through the BRING UNIFORM™ platform, Profecio cleanroom suits collected from partner companies will be recycled into 100% regenerated polyester. This will be branded as “BRING Material™,” utilizing JEPLAN’s proprietary technology. However, due to the unique requirements of cleanroom suits, the adoption of recycled polyester as a material for new suits presents significant challenges. For the time being, efforts will focus on using recycled plastic and polyester for other purposes, including communication tools such as corporate novelty items, to support material recycling.
