Promoting healthy lifestyle for youth through sports
GOLDWIN to return as a special co-sponsor for MIP Sports Games in 2014 for the 13th time
GOLDWIN (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo / President: Akio Nishida / First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange: 8111) will be a special co-sponsor for MIP Sports Games, an event aimed at promoting the health and wellness of young athletes through athletic programs.
MIP Sports Games are held all across Japan throughout the year by MIP Sports Project, a special non-profit organization, to provide young athletes with an opportunity to receive instructions from top ranking professionals and inspire them to achieve their full potential.
Working with corporations, organizations, and facilities in the sports industry in local communities, MIP Sports Project organizes sports clinics and other programs suited for the community’s needs. In 2014, the event is scheduled to take place at four different locations across Japan.
GOLDWIN has been sponsoring the event since 2002 and supplying recycled t-shirts* for the participating young athletes and staff uniforms. Starting this year, GOLDWIN will also begin collecting t-shirts** that are no longer used. This program is part of the company’s Green is Good campaign to promote environmental awareness among today’s youth through fun sports events and activities.
* T-shirts no longer needed are collected at stores and recycled into new fabrics.
** Only t-shirts provided by GOLDWIN at past MIP Sports Games will be collected.
GOLDWIN will continue to support the event in accordance with its corporate philosophy of offering good physical and mental health through an athletic lifestyle.
